For us there’s nothing more satisfying than creating something out of nothing.
We have just started to ply our yarns and needed a way of feeding the full bobbins to the spinning wheel without them flying all over the room.
Using an old block of wood, a rusty metal rod, some washers and finally 4 corks, we created our very own Lazy Kate.
When we tested it, it worked perfectly and we have the option of creating up to 4 ply wool. If we need more control over the way the bobbins rotate we can always add a tensioner at a later date but for the time being we find this to be quite adequate.
And, best of all it cost us nothing but a bit of time and effort.
